Polar Literature - Book Tips on the Arctic and Antarctic

Greenland in Winter

Greenland in Winter

Greenland, Tasiilaq. Endless snowfields, snow-covered mountains, icy lakes and bays. The east of Greenland is a paradise for those who love winter and seek silence and adventure at the same time. On foot, with snowshoes, by boat or in Greenlandic style with the traditional dog sled, which is still used for hunting today. And with a little luck you can even see auroras in the sky. Read here what you can expect in East Greenland in winter and why you should plan a bit more time.

With Dog Sled from Tasiilaq to Tiniteqilaaq

With Dog Sled from Tasiilaq to Tiniteqilaaq

Greenland. Cold, wind and freedom. This is what the title of a book by Robert Peroni says. His book about East Greenland. And these three words describe quite exactly our trip with the dog sled from Tasiilaq to Tiniteqilaaq. A ride that was the absolute highlight of our winter trip to East Greenland after only three minutes. In the following article you will find out what makes a trip with a dog sled so special and read a few tips I can give you for the trip. There are also some great photos of the four-legged heroes. Hiking tour from the Eqi Glacier to the Greenland Ice Sheet on your own

Greenland, Eqi glacier and inland ice: As if spellbound, I look over the wide ice surface that rises up in front of us. I think of the many explorers and adventurers who were drawn to the ice sheet. To those who crossed it successfully and also to those who stayed here. A few more steps forward and I stand where great stories have been written. One of them is that of the French expeditions led by Paul-Émile Victor. Are you also infected by the polar virus and would you like to put your feet on the ice sheet? In my article I'll tell you where and how you can do a hiking tour on your own from the Eqi glacier to the Greenland ice sheet. You'll follow in the footsteps of polar explorer Paul-Émile Victor and discover a lot on your hike.
