Homage to the Orcas

The inspiration for the orca family you see on the shirts is a photo I took during a boat trip in the San Juan Islands. The islands are located in the Salish Sea in Washington State, USA. Vancouver Island is right next door. Three different orca groups live in the Salish Sea: the Southern Residents, the Transients, and the Offshore Orcas. While the Transients and the Offshore Orcas feed on marine mammals or sharks, the Southern Residents feed exclusively on salmon. But the salmon population is severely threatened by river obstruction and its increasing pollution.
You can read more about this in my article.

The garments are available in black and navy.
The color of the print is green by default. For an extra charge of 5 euros, I will customize the color of the print to your desired color.

All the items you see here I can recommend with my best knowledge and conscience.

Trangia - Primus gas stove insert

Flexible through the winter.
The gas insert fits exactly into the lower windshield of the Trangia stove. So you have an alternative to the spirit burner and you can now connect gas cartridges with screw thread. I can recommend the gas stove insert for winter tours because the spirit stove meets its limits in the cold. You can use the more powerful winter gas with the gas stove.

Trangia 25-3 Spirit Stove Set

A purchase for life.
Trangia's 25 Ultralight stove series is suitable for three to four people. The 27 series is meant for one to two people. However, the latter is too small for me and I use the 25 series even when I'm traveling alone. The pots are made of an aluminum alloy, which is 50% stronger than conventional aluminum. That's why the Trangia stoves are so light and sturdy and the first choice for me.

Carinthia G 490X - synthetic fiber sleeping bag

When it gets a little colder.
The G 490X is a highly functional expedition sleeping bag with G-Loft filling. This insulation material combines the advantages of natural down with the insensitivity of synthetic fibers. The water-repellent outer material makes the sleeping bag resistant to moisture from the outside. With a comfort temperature of -13 degrees, even winter camping is well taken care of.

Carinthia - Sleeping Bag Cover - Bivy Bag

Das kleine Extra für mehr Wärme und Trockenheit.
The little extra for more warmth and dryness. I tried it once and now I don't want to give the bivy sack anymore. In winter, the breathable cover gives a little more warmth (like simply during short breaks). And when I'm on the trail with a tarp or when I sleep under the open sky, the cover is a reliable protection against adverse weather.
The three-layer material with integrated GORE-TEX membrane is absolutely waterproof, windproof, and very breathable.

Lundhags - Women's Makke Pant - Softshell Pants

I have already tried many outdoor pants, but none has convinced me as much as the Makke Pant from the Swedish manufacturer Lundhags. I've been wearing my pants for eight years now, and I truly haven't spared them. They still look good and have no cracks or major signs of wear. The pockets are very roomy, the waistband can be flexibly adjusted, the ventilation is good and the legs can be rolled way up in the summer or for fording rivers.

Lundhags - Saruk Pro 75 - Trekking Backpack

Well thought out, flexible, and super comfortable even with a heavy load.
What I like best is the good fit even with short back lengths (up to 42 cm), the adjustable lap belt, the large front opening, the stretchy mesh pockets, the sturdy aluminum frame, and the extra front carry handle. The removable lid compartment and the elastic outer pockets offer a variety of additional stowage options. If the 75-liter capacity is too tight, there are still the 5-liter side pockets for additional storage space as an accessory.

Ortovox - Women's Trad 33 S - Climbing Backpack

The Ortovox Trad fits close to the body with its narrow shape. This is perfect for climbing and all other activities where a center of gravity close to the body is important. The hip belt can also be removed so that it does not interfere when climbing with a climbing harness. Climbing gear can be easily attached to the outside. The additional front access with all-round zipper allows easy access to the luggage.

Fjällräven - Women's Expedition Lätt Hoodie - Synthetic Fiber Jacket

Fjällräven's lightweight synthetic fiber jacket keeps you warm and fits in any pocket, no matter how small. So it can always be with you on tour as an extra insulation layer or even as the only jacket in summer. The recycled synthetic fiber fabric scores especially when it gets a little wetter and a sensitive down jacket is not the best solution.

Thermarest - NeoAir XTherm NXT MAX - Insulation Pad

The thermal mat for extreme conditions! With its excellent thermal insulation (R-value 7.3), the mat is perfect for touring in winter or in the high mountains. It is lightweight and, when folded, takes up no more space than a 1-liter water bottle. With the included pump bag, the mat can be inflated quickly without getting out of breath.

Leki - Sherpa XTG Antishock - Trekking poles

The sturdy trekking poles from Leki are very suitable for demanding trekking tours in rough terrain and with heavy luggage. For winter use, additionally, available snow plates can be screwed on.
Tip: wrap a bit of fabric tape on your poles. So you always have it handy and save a lot of space in your luggage.

Petzl - Actik Core - Headlamp

This simple and functional headlamp from Petzl has white, red, and flashing lights.
You can power it with Petzl's included rechargeable lithium-ion battery or with three AAA batteries. The headlamp is powerful with 550 lumens and shines up to 115 meters.

MSR - Hubba Hubba NX - 2-Person Tent

Small pack size and minimal weight (only 1,540 g)!
With the Hubba Hubba, you are light on your trips and still have plenty of space for sleeping and for your luggage. Due to the large proportion of mesh fabric, the tent is very airy and condensation is minimized. You can also set up either the inner or the outer tent alone
